A good landscape lens for Canon?

  1. Over Christmas I had an idea in my head for a photo. I had seen something similar so I thought I'd turn up and shoot it. When I go there the building was waaay to big to fit in my frame and I walked away with a sad face (I tried to stitch together in p'shop but the lines on the building made it impossible).
Seeing that I do a lot of landscapes I really should actually have a decent wide/ultra-wide angle. I've been looking at a secondhand 17-40mm http://www.kenrockwell.com/canon/lenses/17-40mm.htm anyone got any other recommendations?

  2. I think you know what I'm going to say ;)

    16-35mm f2.8 L mkii - it's lurvely

might be able to get a cheaper mk one???

  3. Cheers mate, I also looked at a sigma in that range, think it was a 14-30 f2.8 and it's getting race reviews for quality glass but seems there are donkey copies out there. I'll have a look for this lens and see if there's any secondhand goodness around
  4. Zeiss Distagon T* 21mm F/2.8 ZE Canon- hmm yeah.

Obviously never tried it, the price makes me sad.
