Hot on the heals of yesterdays premier of Season 3: Episode 1 of [Framed] the [F] Network has given us Episode 1 of a brand new series. This one is called LitUp and is hosted by award winning commercial photographer Joel Grimes. As you might guess by the title this program is centered around lighting but I can tell you from listening to other content featuring Mr Grimes we will most likely get a good bit of inspiration as well. The first episode is just over 10 minutes so give it a look and see if it is something you think you might like. I already know I will be anxiously awaiting each new episode.

I have been following and watching the [Framed] Show (part of the [F] Network) on YouTube for a while now. They do great in depth interviews and provide behind the scenes looks at some of the best photographers in the world. Today they released the first episode of season 3 featuring well known celebrity portrait photographer, and founder of Help-Portrait, Jeremy Cowart. If you have never seen an episode of [Framed] I highly recommend you give it a chance. I find them to be very entertaining, educational, and inspirational.

Some smart folks over at CameraSim.com have come up with a cool little camera simulator that is really neat to play around with. If you are having trouble visualizing what effect changing a setting can have this makes it a piece of cake. Take it for a spin yourself.

Great 8-bit video explaining the basics behind exposure. Very well done and worth watching regardless of your skill level. This comes from the folks over at LightandMatter.org which after spending the last hour reading various posts is now one of my favorite photography sites so be sure to check them out as well.

I came across this over on Pixiq today and thought I would pass it along for anyone who might be interested. Haje Jan Kamps is an author and teacher who has started his own online photography school. The classes or modules are set to start May 1st and is completely free (for the foreseeable future). New modules are scheduled for every few weeks and in addition to the information there will be opportunities for student participation via the sites Flickr group. All and all it seems like a pretty cool idea and you can’t beat the price. Head over to the site and sign up if you’re interested, just make sure you save me a seat near the front of the class.
